Fadi al-Yawar was the fifth journalist killed in Yemen in almost two months
A pregnant journalist in Yemen has been killed in a car bomb attack by masked gunmen.
Her husband, who was also in the car, escaped unharmed.
The Sanaa-based Saba news agency identified the journalist as Fadi al-Yawar. She was due to give birth to her first child on 9 July.
Saba said al-Yawar was with her husband, Ramez Abd al-Rabeh, an architect, when the explosion occurred near the Meyham airport, in the central al-Mukalla province.
According to the National Union of Journalists, in the past six weeks four journalists were killed in the violence-ravaged war-torn country.
Mahdi al-Zahrani, a cameraman for local broadcaster Radio Dhaka and not yet married, was gunned down on 17 April in the port city of Aden. In January, Abdulqader Latif Mohamed, a journalist for An-Nahar newspaper, was shot dead in Sanaa.
